What inspired Affluencia.com?

So many women are investing in property these days and are doing so extremely well. On the other hand, there are so many more who would love to get started on their investment journey, but just don't know where to turn. With this in mind, I saw an ideal avenue to bring all ladies together, irrespective of background or experience, to leverage the vast knowledge we all have available to us.

In the words of Kim Kiyosaki, author of Rich Women, so much can be gained by getting together with like-minded individuals who wish to share information with one another. Women learn well from other women and women make fabulous investors.

So I decided to form a property investing group for women and Affluencia.com was born. Affluencia is Latin for Abundance, hence it truly is The Abundance you Deserve!

Feedback and support indicated there certainly was a niche for such an investment group in today's market.

Financial independence comes through creating choices.  Through Affluencia.com, that is what we provided: choices.

Then an amazing thing occured. I started to see how much women in small business were not utilising the amazing power of the internet.  With over 14 years experience in the information technology industy and a Computing Degree, I saw this as an obvious gap. 

It was for this reason that I formed Savvy Web Women.To show women in small business just what can be done when they understand the power of the internet and social media.

Purchasing her first home in 1996, Wendy's interest in property grew with the Melbourne boom. Her next purchase in 2003 was heavily negatively geared and not a wise investment choice. Undeterred, in late 2005 Wendy sought mentors and purchased a number of properties, building a substantial property portfolio.

Selling the negatively geared property in 2006 made Wendy’s portfolio, now worth over $2M, totally positive cash flow, allowing Wendy to retire from full time employment in December 2006 and concentrate solely on investing in property.
